While normally you would have to play through the entire main story to reach NG+, the GotY and Complete Editions of The Witcher 3 allow you to jump straight into the enhanced story mode.

While the main Wild Hunt story quests will be disabled, your map will effectively be blank and you can still play all of the side quests and optional content included in the original game. Doing so will spawn Geralt on a roadside in Velen at Level 32 (34 for Blood & Wine), with appropriately powerful gear and skill points to distribute as you see fit. Thankfully, if you're not looking to replay the original Wild Hunt storyline, you can begin a new game on either of the two expansions (Hearts of Stone and/or Blood & Wine).

one of the biggest changes to The Witcher 3 in the next-gen update is that you can now transfer original TW3 saves to the Witcher 3 Game of the Year/Complete Editions! See our full guide on how cross-progression works for how to transfer an old Witcher 3 console save to the newer version. While the next-gen upgrade is also available for launch edition copies of The Witcher 3 (with or without the Hearts of Stone/Blood & Wine expansions).
